Charles Edward Bauch - He was known as Ed or Edward to family coworkers and friends.
His Parents were Henry and Stephania Bauch . Edward was born on February
5,1854. A few years later on January22,1857, his sister Emma Bauch was born.
His brother Augustave Bauch was born in 1859 and a brother Henry A.Bauch
was born on June 19,1860.
Stephania may have died sometime between
1854 and 1857. Henry Bauch remarried Minnie Domke in1858. Henry Bauch died on
April 15,1863. Minnie Domke Bauch remarried Louis Schumm Sr. in 1864.
When Minnie Domke Bauch Schumm, died in August 1917, her Obituary stated that
“she came directly to Laporte Indiana from Posen,Germany. In the same
year she entered into holy matrimony with Henry Bauch,who died early. This
union had been blessed with three children of whom Henry A. Bauch
survives.”
Louis Schumm Sr and Minnie had three children Louis jr.
Willie, and Rose Schumm.
Edward married Elizabeth “Lizzie Marks” on March 27,1877. By the year 1879,they had moved their family to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Edward was employed with the Pittsburgh Fort Wayne and Chicago Railroad.
Their first-born child Eddie “Edward Charles Bauch “ was born
in 1877. Their second baby was born in 1879. His name was Henry George Bauch
Their third child was Oscar Lenden Bauch born on September23,1880 Garland
Ridgeway Bauch was born the fourth baby on July 28,1882. Grover
Cleveland Bauch was born on October 29,1884.
Sadly ten days after the
birth of their fifth son, Grover Cleveland Bauch, Lizzie died of Complications
of childbirth. Lizzie is buried at the Patton cemetery in Laporte Indiana. On
May 1st 1886 Charles Edward Bauch remarried a widow with two children. Her name
was Rosa Hartstine. On Sept. 19th 1887 Charles Edward was killed on a train
wreck and explosion near Forest Ohio, he worked as a fireman on the train. He
is buried next to his first wife Lizzie, in Patton Cemetery.
