residence Sunday at 1 p.m. and was buried Tuesday, Apr. 21, at Pinhook. He was
an old resident of this place and will be missed by a large circle of relatives
and acquaintances."

Gertrude Thompson - Mrs. Gertrude E. Thompson, 76,
of route 2, died Thursday at 3:25 a.m. at the Little Company of Mary Health
facility in San Pierre, following a lingering illness. She was born March 6,
1894 in Iowa to Christopher and Elizabeth (Burkle) Klassen and had lived in the
are here the past 70 years. She was married May 6, 1916 in La Porte to Henry H.
Thompson who preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1969. Mrs. Thompson was a member of
St. Joseph Catholic church and the MISC Women's club. Surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. Roger (Alice) Mitchell of Ottawa, Ontario, Can., and Mrs.
Charles (Mary Jane) Pierce of Ballwin, Mo.; two sons, Glenn J. of La Porte and
Robert H. of Kingsport, Tenn.; four sisters, Mrs. Wilfred Nixon, Mrs. Ann
Bowman, Mrs. Mary Bowman and Mrs. John McAllister, all of La Porte; two
brothers, John B. Klassen, Sr., and Eugene Klassen, both of La Porte. One son,
Frank, two brothers, one sister and parents preceded her in death. Funeral
services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph church, the Rev. Lester
Bach officiating. Burial will be in Pinhook cemetery. Friends may call at the
Haverstock Funeral home after noon today and until the time of the services.
The rosary will be recited tonight at 8 at the funeral home.

WILTFONG, CONNIE FAY - Connie Fay Wiltfong, infant
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wiltfong, 801 1/2 Park street, died at the Holy
Family hospital Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. She was born Friday and lived
15 hours. Surviving are the parents,; two brothers, George and John, at home;
the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schroer, and Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Wiltfong,
LaPorte. Funeral services were held the morning at the Haverstock chapel with
