Donated Obituaries:
Julius John Breseke; LaPorte Herald-Argus; 10 November 1948; buried in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Wanatah. Julius John Breseke, 85, of four and a half miles northeast of Hanna, died at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ella Walter.
He was born in Germany on Jan. 6, 1863 and had lived in that vicinity for 26 years, coming from Cass township. He was a retired farmer. On March 10, 1887 at Valparasio he was married to Martha A. Manthey, who with two grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving are one son, William of Hanna; one daughter, Mrs. Walter; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles, of Whiting, and one sister, Mrs. Mathilda Newman . He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church of Wanatah.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran church in Wanatah. Friends may call at Kosanke Brothers chapel in Union Mills from tonight unitl Friday morning at 10 o'clock. The body will then be taken to the church where it will lie in state from 11 a.m. until time of services. The casket will not be opened after the services.
Note: Julius was the son of Julius C. Breseke (buried in Hanna Cemetery) and Dorthea Schmidt(not sure where she is buried). He immigrated with his parents, siblings, aunts and uncle from Germany on a ship called the Bavaria. They arrived in New York on 17 May 1869. He and his parents were on the 1870 Indiana Census living in Cass Township. Henry Manthey was born June 16, 1845, in Province, Posen, Germany. In the year 1875 he came to this country. He was married to Miss Wilhelmine Schuelke; this union was bless with 12 children of which 2 besides his wife preceded him into Eternity. He died May 28, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 12 days. He leaves 3 sons, 7 daughters, 20 grandchildren and one great grand child. Funeral was held May 31, 1922. The relatives of Henry Manthey extend there thanks to all that assisted them during their father's illness and also to the choir.
Mini-Biography of Henry and Wilhemina Manthey: Henry Manthey was the son of Henrich Manthei and was born on 16 June 1845 in Germany. He died on 28 May 1922 in Wanatah,Indiana at age 76, and was buried on 31 May 1922 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Wanatah, Indiana.
He immigrated from Germany and arrived in New York on 14 March 1875. Henry was naturalize to the United States on 1 August 1876 in LaPorte, Indiana.
He was a farmer in Cass Township for most of his adult life.
Henry married Wilhelmine Schuelke on 6 Feb 1876 in LaPorte County, Indiana Wilhelmine was born on 30 October 1857 in Germany, died on 11 Mar 1913 in Cass Twp, Indiana, at age 55, and was buried on 13 March 1913 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Wanatah Indiana. According to the 1900 Indiana Census, she immigrated in 1863.
They had ten children: Emma who married Emil Rosenbaum on 7 May 1895, Augusta Anna who married Albert Eichstaedt on 15 April 1900, Ida who married August Rudolf on 13 December 1916, Matilda E. who married Henry Schmidt on 26 October 1915, Henry John (never married), Emil W. who married Ida Benkie on 22 Feb 1922, Ottilie who married Charles Fritz on 25 April 1917, Bertha who married Herbert Werner on 14 December 1919, Ella who married Edward Tesmer on 28 April 1896, and her twin Fred Otto who married Adeline Grose around 1922. Wilhemine Manthey; Wanatah Mirror; 13 March 1913; buried in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Wanatah. Mrs. Henry Manthey, residing southeast of town, passed way early Tuesday morning, death being due to diabetis. Deceased leaves her husband, three sons, and 5 daughters. The funeral will be held from the Lutheran church this afternoon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emeline Rosenbaum, 74, of five miles south of Wanatah, who died yesterday morning at her home, will be conducted at 1:30 Thursday at the Boehlke funeral home with the Rev. A.V. Kuster officiating. A second service will be held at the St. John's Lutheran church at Wanatah at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Mr. Kuster officiating. Friends may call the the Boehlke funeral home form 1 o'clock tomorrow until services Thursday. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery. Mrs. Rosenbaum, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Manthey, was born Dec. 7, 1876 in Cass township where she resided her entire life. On May 6, 1894 she married Emil E. Rosenbaum. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran church and the Lutheran's Ladies Aid society. Surviving are six sons, Otto, William, Fred, Edward, John and Clarence, all of route 2, Wanatah; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Warner, Mrs. Honey Grieger and Miss Ida Rosenbaum, all of route 2, Wanatah; three brothers, Emil Manthey, route 2, Wanatah; Fred Manthey, South Bend; Henry Manthey, Hanna; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Rudolph, Valparaiso; Mrs. Ella Tessmer, South Bend and Mrs. Bertha Werner, Hanna.

Miss Henrietta Trinosky. Miss Henrietta Martha Trinosky, 17 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Trinosky of Wilder, passed away at the Christian hospital in Valparaiso
this morning at 4:30, following an operation for appendicitis. Miss Trinosky became very ill and was rushed to Valparaiso, where she underwent an operation.
Miss Trinosky was born Feb. 16, 1912 in North Judson, but lied in or near Wilder practically all her life. She was a senior in North Judson High school in North Judson High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran church of LaCrosse.
Surviving are the parents; a sister, Mrs. Leona Tesmer of North Judson and Mrs. Augusta Nimon of NOrth Judson. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Krege in LaCrosse at 1 O'clock Saturday afternoon and at 1:30 at the LaCrossed St. John's Lutheran church, the Rev, I. F. Hodde officiating.
