***The following directories are available at the La Porte Library:
1884-86 has LaPorte City, Michigan City, AND County Lists Separated by
Township
1887-88 Has LaPorte City, Michigan City, AND County Lists with
county residents sorted alpha, not by township. This also indicates "property
& real estate owners", so might not include non-owner tenants.
1890 is
a LaPorte City Only Directory the next one is 1897.
WPA Vital Records Indexes are available for about 2/3 of the Indiana
counties.
They have marriages (usually 1850-1920) and sometimes application
info for a few of the included years; deaths and births (both generally

DuBois, Fayette, Grant, Jefferson, Jennings, Lawrence, Marshall, Noble, Ohio,
Porter, Randolph, Ripley, Rush, Scott, Steuben, Switzerland, Tipton, Union,
Wabash, and Whitley. The following counties have only partial indexes: Fulton,
Kosciusko and Pulaski.
